discard 30 cards library mtg

someone told me that theres a card in magic that I can make someone discard 30 cards from his library is that true

True... In theory.

Traumatize forces your opponent to put half of their library rounded down into the graveyard. If a person is playing with more than 60 cards or more specifically has 60-61 cards left in their library when you cast this then yeah it will mill them for 30.

Under normal circumstances in a 60 cards deck this till his you for about 20-24 cards. This is typically seen in blue/black mill deck along with cards like Mind Funeral and will almost always be seen with Haunting Echoes.

Traumatize + Haunting Echoes = you win. It is going to pull almost every, if not ever non-basic land card from their deck. So even if you don't have a way to kill them just wait a few rounds while they draw all land and then run out of cards.

That deck sounds like it will always win how do you defeat it

Do 20 damage before turn 6 which is not hard.
Counter the traumatize and/or haunting ehoes.


In reality it's alot harder to win with this deck than it is with a fast creature aggro deck.

i totaly agree. the deck is not realy fast and because it needs to pacjk a lot of cards to do the milling it is also not that good at holding off fast decks. when you spend so many card slots in your deck on milling you wont have enough space left for control. most control deck will spend between 2-5 solts on stuff it wins with the rest on control. this deck spends at least 14 cards on winning (not counting jace) that a good 10+ card slots not filled with control.
