Default Why so high a price difference between board games of different condition?

Was wondering why board games in the rarity guide are priced so high in mint/near mint condition compared to other conditions (Exc and Good). I mean I know there should be some difference, but most games in the rarity list are shown as mint being double (and often much more) the value of exc

From a collector's point of view, condition is of utmost importancy. Collectors like mint condition items, and they will pay a lot more for those. For items that are not mint, they will pay considerably less.

Also, its hard to find collectibles in mint conditions if many decades have passed. So old items are sometimes worth even more when mint. This applies to board games even more- think about it, board games were bought to play with, and more often than not were handled by small children. Small pieces would get lost. So to find old board games in mint condition is hard, which is why the value is so high for them compared to the other conditions.
