    what does it mean if an item says "these items are used in federation outreach and aid programs"?

    like for example a weather control system

    Certain exploration missions require you to deliver those to some planets. You can just sell them so they don't take away your inventory space. If needed you can buy it afterwards, just find a freighter (plenty of them near sol)
