Default Commodore 64 Rarity Guide and Price Guide

I have an announcement to make: due to a huge interest in this from the community, we've decided to launch the Commodore 64 Rarity List / Price List sooner then what was planned. The original plan was to first finish the Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance Rarity Guides, but we are now giving priority to the Commodore 64 games Rarity Guide.

The guide will be launched shortly and will be populated with data as we process it. It will take a lot of time to complete (since there are thousands of titles) but we will make all game data available as we analyze it. As a reminder, at RarityGuide.com we manually research all the data and do not post harvested numbers. You should see the Commodore 64 Rarity guide up with some games listed soon, and as we study the data more games will be added slowly but surely until it is complete.

The Commodore 64 Rarity Guide is now live. It doesn't have many games just yet, but as I said we are researching the C64 field and will add more games as we process them.

So here is the direct link to the Commodore 64 Rarity List

The Commodore 64 games Rarity Guide has grown to over 100 games! and it will continue to rise, until it is complete.

I've added a new column in the Commodore 64 Rarity Guide: Media

This will be either Floppy Disk, Cartridge or Cassette.

Reason is that in many cases, the same game might have different rarity or value depending on the media version. So for example, the Cassette version of the game might be more/less rare then the floppy or cartridge version of the same game.

    Excellent!

One comment. I noticed you are not breaking out some of the games by packaging options. For example, most of the Infocom (Zork, etc...) games were released in cheaper Commodore branded packaging and in the more desirable Infocom gray box packaging. There is a large price disparity between the two types of packaging in my experience.

Perhaps this is just not a practical thing to track?

    Thank you for the feedback,

We currently do not track different packaging options, but will consider adding it in the future. However, note that we will track games on different media types (cassette, disk, cartridge) and we do track the same games if published by a different publisher, or when released in different years.

So often the same game might have more than one entry in the database according to the above criteria.

I like your original plan better, I could use a GBA and GBC rarity guide!

Actually we have gone back to the original plan. Due to the sheer amount of C64 games, it would significantly delay all the other rarity guides that other people have requested. And so, while we will still be working on the C64 guide, we have diverted most of the resources back to working on the other rarity guides, including the Game Boy Color and the Game Boy Advance ones.

As it stands now, the GBC rarity guide is expected to be released mid-May, while the GBA guide should be released towards the end of May.

It's June, and no Gameboy Color/Advance Rarity Guides seem to exist.
