Any suggestions for casual eternity vessel deck?
Any suggestions for casual eternity vessel deck?
first step would be choosing what colors you want to play. green would be nice because green can get you a land in play at instant speed. sure fetchlands can do that too but no need spending money on 10$ cards when other casual stuff can do the same. now you can think about adding a second or thired color.
next you need to think about how to kill your opponent. setting life is actualy gaining life by an amount equal to the diffrence between your current life total and the new one (or loosing live in some cases). so knowing that you could add black to the green to play sanguine bond. with that in play we can kill people with the vessle ^^.
ok wen need to get the vessle out fast and we need to be able to get lands into play instant speed just in case. so in go:
4 x Rampant Growth
4 x Harrow
we need our combo so in goes:
4 x Eternity Vessel
4 x Sanguine Bond
now we also need ways to loose life because that way our vessle will be doing more damage when we drop a land. loosing life is common on blakc cards and most of the time you get great benefits for the lifeloss drawback. a drawback we are turning into additional advantage in this deck making these cards twice as powerful. so in go:
4 x Sign in Blood
4 x Howling Banshee
2 x Ad Nauseam
now make sure you play these most of the time only after you played the vessle. that's the reason i did not include Vampire Lacerator because you would want to drop him early when you dont have a vessle yet.
lastly we need a way to find our combo pices more consistanly. so in goes:
4 x Diabolic Tutor
you still have about 6 card slots open that you can fill with whatever you like. the rest should be lands.
i've keep all cardchoices to the standard cardpool because its sometimes not that easy to get hold of older cards. there are tons of other options when you include older cards too but you dont have to for it to be a fun deck to play.
Since "setting life" counts as gaining life for card abilities, you can put it in with Tamanoa, Searing Meditation, and/or Well of Lost Dreams to abuse the life gain.
Look at what you two are proposing for this deck definitely sets it up to be a beast when Landfall happens. Sanguine Bond though I find better than Searing Meditation as it has no activation cost. I might want to try this out.
Finally, a new generation of Pokemon for us to enjoy. There is much to look forward to in 2011!
