great work thx twanos !!!
I think its a good idea to have a reference to the official rules on the top of the forum,
However not sure about posting the WHOLE rulebook here, because:
- Its split into lots of posts, and when the rules change it can be tricky to maintain.
- For example the rules recently changed (From July to September). There's 64 posts here  to have to go over and see what changed
- There are copyright issues with posting the complete rules on here; While there's no issue with posting relevant parts from the rules for discussion or for clarifying card play, posting the whole document here is problematic.
So I am really sorry to have to delete all the posts and I appreciate your intentions and your work :) . I'll replace the 1st post with a link to the Wizards rules page where all the documents are to be found and sticky so that users can easily find it
-Jared
A forum post is probably not the best format to read the rules anyway...but yeah thanks for the effort :) at least now there's a link to the rules on the top
Yeah thanks
btw this is not the latest pdf verion, like Jared said it changed recently and the most recent one is http://www.wizards.com/magic/comprul...s_20090904.pdf maybe you (or a mod) can edit it so that members dont read the incorrect pdf
So did you really post the whole thing here before  how long was it
Link will be useful tnx
Anyone know what changed between the July and Sept rules? Is this the 2010 rules changes?
Don't think its the 2010 rules since I looked in the July document and it does mention the "Battlefield" zone which is a new concept to M2010 which means the July one already had the new rules. So dont know what changed between the two maybe someone with more patience can read and compare :)
Maybe they added some new rulings?
I would recommend bookmarking that link
Personally I downloaded the Rules PDF and I have it on my desktop so I can refer to it whenever I need to look up some rules, though after reading this post I realized that I still had the old rules (from before M10) so I took the opportunity of downloading the latest rules
It was 568000+ characters and was split over like 63 posts.Quote:

yeah 4 pages of posts i was real impressed. but i think the pdf is the quickes way to use the comprehensiv rules because of the search funktion. the text version is useful when you need to quickly copy paste stuff for a post however. at least that how i usualy do it.
I have it and oracle saved in HTML format on my comp at home.
ever considert takeing the judge test or have you done so already ?
years ago I was on the pro tour and later became a level 3 judge. But like I say until about a month ago I had been out of the game for nearly a decade.
jeah you can get the judge out of magic but you cant get magic out of the judge ^^
once you've been down that road you pretty much sold your soul to the lord of the pit ...
(in case there are some religous people reading this, this mearly refers to some paper cards with no real religious implications what so ever)
my plan is to get back into the game a little slowly. Just type 2 for a while. I'm planning to go to my first real event in 10 years next weekend for the pre-release. Then over the next few months I plan to create and hone a deck for regionals. As of now I'm planning to do a series of articles/threads as I make and tune the deck starting in November and going thru Feb. I'll be welcoming input along the way and hopefully we can inspire and educate some of the newer players as to how an old hack like me thinks thru card selections and tunes a deck getting ready for serious tourney play.
sounds good. i've got a couple of people here for something like a think-thank and im sure we can find the deck to break the meta ^^
im sure that the format has a good number of viable deck from the obvious mono red to more suptel stuff ...
what style of play do you prefer ? im mostly the control player. decks like draw-go, prisonlock etc. that what i like playing most
Thanks, the link I have now put on the top post has the most recent rules pdf..
Top post pdf link now up to date
