What are treasure hunt cars?

I keep hearing about treasure hunt cars in hotwheels. Can someone tell me what treasure hunt cars means?

Treasure Hunt cars are limited edition Hot Wheels cars, and in fact make up less than 2% of the cars in the marketplace. Every year twelve different Treasure Hunt car models are manufactured with one distributed each month. Each car has something special that you won’t find on any of our other Hot Wheels cars, i.e. special paint jobs, special wheels, etc. Treasure Hunt cars are randomly packed out into our Basic Car assortments, so that when you find them in the store, they’re a real treasure!
