    Default is 12:00 considered AM or PM

    Does anyone know if 12 (twelve) noon is considered to be AM or PM?

    I dont think its considered either. A.M. stands for Ante Meridiem (Latin for Before noon) and P.M. stands for Post Meridiem (Latin for after noon). Since 12 noon is noon itself and is neither after noon or before noon then its not AM or PM. Same for 12 midnight which is just 12 midnight

    I think it's considered PM because the time is so late to be considered morning, that's why call it 12 noon.

    I agree with Avalanche, 12 noon (and 12 midnight) is considered neither AM or PM.
