I still remember writing my first Commodore Basic program. It wasn't a hello world but it also was a one liner that printed stuff into the screen. I think it was a random string like
10 PRINT "KLFSKLFKSLFDSEIRE"
Even though all it did was to display random characters, I was VERY excited when I ran it and saw those characters displayed on the monitor

Am now doing this module
Don't know if your doing anymore lessons in the near future, but I just wanted to thank you for the 'freshman set' of lessons and the nice C64 emulator you put up. I've been lookin' to relearn basic for awhile and my old Atari 800xl is in a friend's garage in Florida, so I've got to use the pc. I ran through the first set of lessons today and managed to pick up the C64 user manual and programmer's guides online. Woohoo! On to vintage programming goodness.
