Default How to safely remove price tags from collectibles

sometimes when I buy collectibles such as board games from thrift shops, they have price stickers on them. Usually if I attempt to peel those off, I damage the box.

Is there a good way to remove the price stickers safely?

I have the same problem with my game labels, the only way I tried is to remove the label very slowly, because using soluvants (if thats even a word) could potentially damage the label.

try heating it a little bit with a blow dryer, that loosens the adhesive on the price sticker

Yes I once bought a rare board game in the thrift shop it had not 1, not 2 but 3 price stickesr on it, and when I peeled them off it tore the original cardboard.

Though cant complain too much since I bought the game for 3 bucks.

Right, if its the original sticker (for example from Toys ' R Us or from some game store that closed long ago) then it might sometimes even increase a bit the value of the game.

On the other hand, price stickers of "$2.00" that say "community thrift store" probably decrease the value of the game by a bit

Try a little petroleum jelly - vaseline. It disolves latex-based glues, but is slow to penetrate other surfaces - wipe firmly but gently with a tissue or soft cloth
