Re: Penny auction websites - Legit or scam?
Hello, I own Twice Nice Deals. There are a few things to keep in mind when deciding whether or not to bid on an auciton site:
1. Do you always see the same user names winning auctions? If so, but no always, this could be indicative of autobidders or bots being used. Sometimes the same user just wins many auctions.
2. What is the user rating for the site. The user experience is always very important because it acts as a barometer of quality of the penny auction site.
3. How fast do items ship? If a user wins an item and it takes a month to reach that user, why would they want to bid on that site? They wouldn't.
4. How much do the bids cost? If the price is outrageous, you may want to go elsewhere.
5. Finally, are there any user testimonials on the site? This is important because as I mentioned in #2, user ratings are very important. Be sure to look for specific things in the testimonials such as a real city that the person leaving the testimonial is from. If there isn't a city in the testimonial, it could still be real but that kind of sends up a red flag.
I hope that these few tips can help any user to avoid a shill bidding or cheating penny auction site.
At Twice Nice Deals, we don't use shill bidding or bots. Everyone that bids on an auction is a REAL USER that registered with us. All Employees of our company are PROHIBITED from bidding on an auction. If they did, they would immediately be fired! Thanks for reading & your time.

Re: Penny auction websites - Legit or scam?
I used to love penny auctions and bid quite often. Now I poke around a bit but I do not bid as much.
I started a forum on penny auction sites and reviews. If you guys do not mind me posting the link here it is:
www.pennyauctioncommunity.com Penny Auction Community | Penny Auction Forum.
There are a lot of good sites that you can trust. It is very important to check and look for reviews. When I see a new review for a site I check that review to make sure it is legit. I always check IP addresses and location of that particular user.
Again always do your home work and make sure a penny auction site has a good reputation first before even registering. You don't want to lose your hard earned money along with your information being leaked out for the world to see.
Come check out the user reviews at Penny Auction Community.
You owe it to yourself! You earned that money in your wallet or purse! Use it only on the legit sites.
We are sick of the bots, the shills, and unethical practices of site owners thinking they have found a get rich quick biz.
Thanks,
Jeremy
Re: Penny auction websites - Legit or scam?
Hello Everyone,
It is understandable that everyone is sick of sites that use shill bids or bots. We do not do that at Twice Nice Deals. We aren't looking to get rich quick or EVER for that matter. As I mentioned in my last post, ALL of our members are REAL people.
Once people have been burned once, it is hard or even impossible for them to believe that new penny auction site don't use bots or shill bids.
Here are a few questions to consider:
How does a penny auction site make money if they use bots? Remember that every bot bid that is placed is money that the site ISN'T MAKING. That still doesn't stop some penny auction sites from using bots.
Is it possible to have a TRUE HONEST penny auction site? The answer is YES. A person has to truly believe that it CAN & DOES exist. If they don't, there's no need for me to keep writing & explaining that we are honest because it will get me nowhere. In closing, there are HONEST penny auction sites, we are ONE of them.
Sincerely,
William White

Re: Penny auction websites - Legit or scams?
Penny auctions are not technically scams. However, comma, you are an idiot if you partake in them. It's like playing scratch tickets or dollar slots. The odds of you actually "buying" something without putting a ton of money into it are very slim. I recommend you do the math before you start going crazy. I've seen a PS3 that "sold" for $50, but the actual money spent by morons was $3000.00.

Re: Penny auction websites - Legit or scams?
There is alot to say about beezid, first to put all the haters to sleep beezid is 100% legit. No questions asked it is the best penny auction site out there. I have been on beezid since last november i joined during the birthday celebration and got my first win on my first day and i was hooked. Ever since then i have won over 30 great items worth close to $10,000 retail and i have paid just over $200 for them, if that is not a great deal then i dont know what is! I like beezid so much compared to the other sites because the timers are always right and that is what really makes a penny auction site run so well. Plus they easily have the best customer support out of any site. Beezid is also good because it takes a lot of stratogy to win, alot of the other sites are just luck but there is alot of strat in beezid because they utilze the sniper feature and the autobeezid feature which are great. However as much as i love beezid there are a few things that they do need to work on, one being the time set between auctions so there is always a couple running. Sometimes you will log into beezid and there is only one sonetimes 0 auctions running and i think that is easy to change and actually just recenly suggested one of my ideas for a flash auction to fill in the place on no auctions running. Thats a good thing about beezid because they always take suggestions from us right from the facebook page and communitty they have established so well. So to conclude all of this i am going to say beezid is the best and always will be because they take suggestions from the people which no other sites have this keeps the whole beezid community happy and thats what keeps a site running like a well oiled machine! BEEZID is the BEST so forget about the REST.
Re: Penny auction websites - Legit or scam?
Well Beezid is NOT a scam! My brother-in-law has come out way ahead on this site! I just got into it so I'm still learning but it's great so far!
Re: Penny auction websites - Legit or scam?

Re: Penny auction websites - Legit or scams?
I cannot vouch for any other Penny Auction site but ours - TripBid.com, the ONLY all travel Penny Auction site is 100% above board, with no hidden agendas - we want to sell more travel - period! Guaranted no shills, no games and we give every person who does not win an auction they have bid on the option to convert all "bid money" to credit to buy travel at regular retail prices. So, if they don't win that trip - they can still use the money spent on the bids trying to win towards buying real travel - cruises, tours, vacation packages - from suppliers like Royal caribben, Celebrity Cruises, Funjet Vacations, Globus Tours & much more!
If you are planning on traveling on a cruise, taking an escorted tour, or going to Vegas, Mexico, Hawaii, Orlando, etc. etc. on a family vacation, YOU WILL DO YOURSELF WELL TO VISIT TRIPBID.COM!
We have run TripBid.com for 13 years as a traditional auction site, conducting most auctions through eBay, but this format puts excitement into travel auctions, provides us with a unique marketing opportunity. Our goal is to SELL more travel, not bids! For full disclosure, I will tell everyone that we charge a 10% handling fee for bid money converted to travel credit - that is a normal commission amount for most travel agents, and the travel we sell is at the EXACT same prices as from the suppliers directly. In fact, anyone can call these suppliers directly, make a reservation, then call us to use the credits towards that reservation.
THE BOTTOM LINE, AGAIN, IS IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON TRAVELING ANYWAY - YOU REALLY CANOT LOSE!
No games, no inflated prices - this is the REAL DEAL! If you register and buy bids before August 1, 2011 you will get - 10 FREE BIDS for registering, 10 FREE BIDS for liking us on facebook and 20% extra bids for any Bid Pack purchase.
Our motto is: "You have to be in it to win it, so grab your bags and GET GONE - with TripBid.com"
I am the owner of the company - Peter E Coloyan, Sr., a 35 year travel industry veteran, and I invite you to come, check out TripBid.com, and I wish you the best of luck in your bidding!

This site ripped me off. On top of terrible customer service, they will not refund me for items won and never shipped. I highly advise you on staying away until the site gets a track record for actually delivering their wins or improves on something that might actually be called customer service. Bidsence is a scam and will be shut down soon enough. STAY AWAY you been warned.
Re: Penny auction websites - Legit or scam?
Hi guys and gals. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am a member of a site called Tagvillage. Anyway, in the next few weeks our penny auctions bazaar will be going live and it will be a great opportunity for everyone involved. I'm posting on here to inform everyone and to get people in early. Our site has been around since December but this is a whole new side to the company. A cool thing with our site is if one of your referrals wins an auction, you get a 5% commission on the actual retail value of the item. So for example, if one of your referrals were to win a laptop and the MSRP is $1000. You would get a commission of $50. Not bad, right? Anyway, I say join for free and build a team of fellow penny auction fans. Once were up and running you will be in a great position. We will also have some nice promotions coming real soon for the early birds so hurry and join now. Here is a link to a site I created to promote Tagvillage Earn Online | Penny Auctions | What is Tagvillage so please take a look and click the "tagvillage bazaar" link for more info. Then click the join for free at the top and get in position
I've read through this thread and I've read a lot about bots and scripts within a lot of these penny auctions. I can assure you that our site will not have these. That is one of the main reason Tagvillage has delayed the bazaar. The developers are creating security measures to ensure that no bots will be able to participate. I know it sounds cheesy to say but our site is not a scam. Take a look is all I'm asking. BTW, my site loads kind of slow so please give it a sec. If you would like to just bypass my promotional site and go right to tagvillage, here is the link - tagvillage » Connect. Earn. Share.

This is the best bid site. I've tried alot, but if you catch them on a good day, they return bids or give you free bids just for winning auctions. Plus they put a limit of 4 won auctions a day so everyone gets in on the deals. Just go to this link and sign up. It's $27 for the basic bid pack. I got that and you can use promo codes. DealFun
Re: Penny auction websites - Legit or scam?
Legit or scam - all depends on the website, and the people behind it.
In addition, to those of you who might still winder are there any profit in penny auctions?
Yep. I'm a member of something called TripleClick. They got daily penny auction.
Often the auctions are Tcredits (the currency used to bid), but they got some highly valued items like Iphones, notebooks, silver pan bars, silver/gold panda coins (very valuable) and less valuable items like RC choppers and fun toys like that.
Nevertheless, like all other penny auctions, they start a 0.00$, and every bid increases by .01$, or 1 cent.
Tcredits are bought, and can be purchased for as little as 39 cents each, which, if used well, can be used to win items for very few $s of bidding.
Lets take an example of an auction here.
A 10.1" Toshiba Notebook got sold for 21.56$ (real example, i participated in it myself).
IF each bid was .39$, 2156 bids would give a total income of 840,84$. Thats 4 times the items retail price!
BUT! That's for all the bids. With lots of bidders (and NO bots!), each participator might spit out 2-5$ worth of bids, which really isn't that much.
I've seen several times where rc choppers, silver bars and other items got sold for 90 cent up to 20$+, so there are people who run away with an expensive item for less than 1$ worth of bidding. That's pretty nice.
It's free to sign up, like so much else, so what does anyone got to lose? Nothing :)
Re: Penny auction websites - Legit or scams?
Many of these penny auction sites are not free. You can't really win anything from them no matter how many time you bit. I've been look for these auctions site for a while now, one friend I added on FB a while ago told me Zeekler is the site I should really check out with, her name was Renee, one of her friend acutally won a blender at Zeekler, she even showed me the picture to prove that her friend won it.
So I joined Zeekler, guess what I got 500 free Bids for the first time I registered, maybe I was registered under someone else's name, that's why I had that many bids. Acutally joined a few days ago, haven't won anything yet, but with 500 free bids, I am sure I will get something deep cheap.
This is totally free, not like other sites that they have a membership fee which i think is a rip. Zeekler is no membership fee and they have great deals, I am lucky enough to own a software that will compare the prices of different products, which is very useful that I can buy expensive items in cheap prices.
I have also do a search on Google about this site, they are not scams unlike a lot of other ones, a lot of good rating on this auction site.
If you sign up you get 500 free bids which is like over $300 in free bids so it helps you figure out if you like it. Sorry for this long post and my little story, but I when I saw this thread, I just want to tell people there are companies online offer real and honest service, so they don't feel like the whole internet is a scam!
In case you want to check it out here's the link: http://timch.zeekler.com/splash. Oh by the way, you will receive different vip sample bid amounts daily until you have received 500 of them. Good Luck!
Re: Penny auction websites - Legit or scams?
Ah, as a lurker in these forums for quite some years, I'm finally able to add some real "2 cents" into this discussion. Throughout the post I will link to my favorite resource sites (not actual auctions!) that teach you strategy and give you reviews, which I attribute much of my success to.
I have been shopping at penny auctions since the first day they came out with Swoopo years ago. I rarely ever lose, but that's because I know what I am doing. I also do it as a hobby only, whereas I do storage auctions to actually make a part time income. Penny auctions are amazing if you only use it for things you want, dont try to be a reseller (I tried, it's grueling).
Yes, you need to PREPAY for your bids on these types of sites in a form of bid packs. Each site has it's own penny auction bid prices, and sometimes you get discounts by buying in bulk, or using penny auction coupons (which most sites offer).
Finally, many different penny auctions only accept people and ship to countries near them, so if you're international then check out a UK penny auctions and Australia penny auctions listing sites, bc otherwise you will be frustrated to find out a certain site doesn't ship to your country. The majority of sites already accept Canadians and Americans.
