Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt Label Variant
I just recently acquired some NES games that will be shipped in a few days.
I noticed in the auction something that seemed a bit off. Upon a good face against monitor squint inspection. I notice the label for SMB/DH was nothing like I had seen before, So i googled around and found nothing other than its not the EU version. From the pic I found of it googling it appears to not be a five screw :(. But it seems fairly unique or rare (similar to yellow metroid).
So if anyone knows anything about this (pics below) . Thanks

Re: Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt Label Variant
Seems to be lacking the Nintendo Seal of Quality.... Bootleg?
Re: Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt Label Variant
Good point Kangaroo, I didn't even notice that *slaps forehead*. so I'm thinking bootleg or Replaced Label? The later seems unlikely as that is a pic i googled up. So there are at least two floating about.
Re: Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt Label Variant
I never noticed before but I too have two different label layouts on Mario/duck hunt. I will take a guess BUT NO factual evidence yet, I think one might have been packaged in with the "action set" and the other was after market, buy in the store. I don't know but I am curious, if you find out post it please.

Re: Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt Label Variant
i've got both variants. dunno how uncommon the one without the seal is.
Re: Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt Label Variant
I have both variants as well. I was hoping one was rare and maybe worth a little more. I'll probably keep both as its fun to have one of each in the collection.

I've been wondering the same thing, this guy seems to have the best answer.

Ah, nice find. Thanks for solving the mystery :)
Re: Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt Label Variant
Awesome, awesome!! Finally an answer. I had my suspicions if you read my last post thinking it was from the action set but I wasn't 100%. Now the one question remains… if the one variant was released only in a numbered few "first edition" nes action sets without the seal whether it's a typo or forgotten or even didn't exist, is one worth more or any rarer than the other?
