Recently, we could read an article by Javier Tourón about the use of video and television as part of the teaching and learning process. In it, the author highlighted some channels and programs, such as TED, Networks, Tres14 or Documentaries de la 2, while claiming the role of these two elements in education, mainly download vimeo videos educational. His comments are not misleading, as recent studies highlight the importance that the video has gradually acquired as a substantial educational resource, underlining that this format is already universal in the training of young people (see 1.7 and 3.5) and estimating that , in a couple of years, up to 90% of the global consumption of online content will be through videos.

That is why, at present, all Spanish universities have an institutional channel and, according to research conducted by Lydia Gil, our university is quite well positioned, including, on YouTube, among others:

-Informative videos.

–OPENCLASS of very varied themes.

–Teacher lessons.

-A space for the theater and for volunteering.

In the same way, certain institutions have openly opted for video as a basic knowledge transmission channel, proposing interesting resources in the open, in the case of Khan Academy or Unicoos in Spain, idea of ​​David Calle, whose YouTube channel was the nomination as one of the best teachers in the world in the past Global Teacher Prize.
