What is the safest way to remove stamps from envelopes without damaging the stamps?

What is the best way to take stamps off envelopes without causing damage to the stamps?

What NOT to do: Just try to peel the stamp off the envelope. This will damage the stamp.

Here is how you remove it:

Cut the corner around the stamp itself and put it in a bowl of warm (not too hot) water for a few minutes (like 10 to 15). Stamp should fall down, at which point use tongs to gently take it out of the bowl and place it face down on a paper towel and let them dry. When they are completely dry place them inside a big book to flatten thm out (since they may have curled a bit) for like a week or so, then place them in your stamp album.
