Pokemon naming thread! Get and give ideas for pokemon nicknames in here!

Lotsa times I can't think of a good name for my pokemon. So I figure we can use this thread to share ideas for cool pokemon nick names.

So bookmark this post and if you ever need a nickname for your pokemon you can come here ask for suggestions or see what people came up here before.

Also post your own names either ones you used on your own pokemon or any good names you can think of! Note that pokemon names are limited to 10 characters.

If you see a cool name here but yoi've already named your pokemon, you can always go to the name rater in Eterna City and he will change your pokemon's name (unless it is a traded pokemon)

Have fun and lets come up with some good pokemon names!!

Examples of name ideas:

Zubat/Golbat/Crobat: Hover
Geodude/Graveler/Golem: Rocky

I'll start

I think a good name for a Zubat/Golbat/Crobat is "Hover".

Thats what I named my Zubat when I caught it.

I named my Geodude/Graveler/Golem "Rocky"

the psychic types Psycho maybe?

and maybe some fighting types "Mike Tyson" or something, a famous boxer name...

I named my Togepi Spikey since it looks like it has spiked hair

I named my piplup "tiny"

I called my Shinx Littl'

and my starly i called Birdy

2 of the more interesting names I've used are:
AdventLeaf - for my Leafeon who is a serious attacker and usually a front line fighter
AC-8 - For my Vaporeon because I enjoy D&D and it sounds cool

For a female electric type : Elektra
For a male electric type : Rayden ( out of mortal combat)

For a fire type : Blaze

Psi for a male espeon

Crystal for a female glaceon

For a female magmar/magmortar : lava croft

One name I use for Pidgey is Pergy, because of how I used to mispronounce the name.

Aero would not be too bad either .

I named my chimchar ChimmyChan and my luxray Luxie. I usually stick pretty close to their original pokemon names or types.

A recently captured Wurmple got named "Point"
A Shinx got named "Sparkie"

My first starter, Chimchar, in Pearl got named "Dart" after the main character in Legend of Dragoon.

I'm quite fond of Dudeskull for a duskull.

Seriously though, one of the things i do when trying to come up with a nick name for a poke is to go online and look up names from literature of folklore... The names of old knights work well, and i found a lot of usable names in a wikipedia article about the bogeyman...

I think one of the oddest is my metagross, whose name is 374.12 I was using it as a location specifier while breeding, and got used to it, so i left it.

I have the random need to name EVERY single pokemon I own (current something like 250 or so). Here are some of my favorites:

Crawdaunt (female): MudBug (reference to southern name for a crayfish)

Rhydon (male): Drill SGT
Magcargo (female): Maggy
Kricketune (mate): Kermit
Dustox (male): Dusty
Snover (female): Ski
Electrabuzz (male): LT. Surge
Bronzor: Metalica
Shaymin: Panda
Heatran: Magma
Darkrai: Nightmare
Cresselia: Luna
