Eggs take quite a long-time to hatch, usually around 7-10,000 steps. The best way to hatch eggs quickly is to have a Pokemon with Magma Armor or Flame Body near it, which will half the number of steps it takes for the egg to hatch.
Finally, a new generation of Pokemon for us to enjoy. There is much to look forward to in 2011!

For a quick way of hatching eggs, use the stretch of open ground next to the day care centre, From the moomoo milk place where the psyducks are, to the trees after the piers.

The other day I used my steps counter to count the number of steps to hatch 2 eevee eggs

One of them hatched after 9670 steps
another one hatched after 9360 steps

Another good place to hatch fast is route 206 Sinnoh Cycling Road (South of Eterna City)

you start from the north and your bike travels down fast without pressing keys.then when youre at bottom go back up again and release button and so on, you can hatch an egg in less than 10 mins I think

It differs between each egg. There is the base number of steps, and then its *'d by something, but the base steps is always different, even if the Something is the same.

Though I think if you carried more than 1 egg at same time it would increase the number of steps needed for each egg

Nope. if you carry more eggs, it still differs between each one, but each step you take is contributed to each egg's total steps needed.

    You're both right

The game checks every 255 steps to see if pokemon is ready to hatch.

if a pokemon hatches or you get another egg from day care center, that counter resets.

so for example if you got egg, then walked 200 steps, then got another egg, it would take you an additional 200 more steps to hatch the first egg then if you havent picked up 2nd egg.

So yeah while the steps are still applied to all eggs, each new egg you get and each hatch can delay the hatching of the other eggs by up to 254 steps each so the end result is that having more eggs would take longer for each to hatch.

so what your saying is its better to get one egg then take one of the parents out and then hatch one egg?

This counter resets when you pick up another egg from day care man (not when the egg is created) so no need to take parent out. But yeah if you are picking up lotsa eggs and hatching them together then yea each of those "pickup" and "hatches" will delay by a little the hatching of other eggs.

I guess the most effective way is to wait for 5 eggs (store in box in meantime) then hatch them all together
