The system for Pokemon blue was a bit cruder to what the modern generation has, but it was still decently possible to change out Pokemon.

The first step is to go to the PC near the front desk of the Pokemon center and select the Pokemon option. Next, choose deposit to store the Pokemon you do not want to use at present. After that, select the withdraw option. Then, simply choose which Pokemon you want in your party.
Finally, a new generation of Pokemon for us to enjoy. There is much to look forward to in 2011!

You want to access Bill's PC, the text will say it is loading the Pokemon storage system.

Once on this menu, you will see the options:
    Withdraw PKMN
    Deposit PKMN
    Release PKMN
    Change Box
    See ya!

First, you will want to choose Deposit PKMN, then select and store the Pokemon from your team you do not want to use at present.

After that, choose Withdraw PKMN. You will only see the names of the Pokemon you have caught, but you can hit "A" on the Pokemon and choose "Stats" to see what they are. Hit "A" again on this screen to see their moves.
Finally, a new generation of Pokemon for us to enjoy. There is much to look forward to in 2011!
