how to save when there is already a saved file platinum

how do I save pokemon platinum game when there is already a saved file from before?

Before you start a game, you are told how to delete the old save file on the Pokemon cartridge.

You need to delete it first, on the title screen, pressing and holding Up+Select+B. Confirm it twice to do so.
