Default Re: how to get a breed pokemon its parents moves

    From Pokemon Breeding Guide

    Inheritance:
While alluded to, it is important for the basics to be laid out clearly. What the Pokemon gets from each of its parents. From the female, it will get its species. From the male, it will get any of its potential moves. From both, it will receive, randomly, 3 of the parent’s Individual Values. When breeding for competition, this can be a vital factor that must be accounted for if one is aiming to breed a very strong Pokemon.
This list is are also part of what the Pokemon will inherit from their parents:
    - Two Pokemon of the same species that share moves can pass their common moves to their offspring. (Ex. 2 lvl 36 Eevees that know Baton Pass will ensure any offspring have the move Baton Pass).
    - TMs and HMs will always be passed on

*As implied here, you can also use the Male Pokemon to pass on what are commonly called Egg Moves to the child. Numerous examples of these chains can be found in this forum.
Finally, a new generation of Pokemon for us to enjoy. There is much to look forward to in 2011!
