There are 2 which are truly ideal for catching Pokemon: Sleep and Freeze.

Sleep is very helpful as many Pokemon have moves that give them ready access to this status effect. It is the most common and the most helpful (save against something that has the ability Insomnia, but that is another story).

Freeze is much less common and only occurs as a chance. There is no move that directly causes freeze, but the effect is the same as Sleep, just a fire move will defrost the frozen Pokemon.

After those come Paralysis, Poison and Burn

Infatuation and confusion don't help THAT much.
