It is possible to key your DS and Pokemon Platinum to your Wii to receive notification when someone accepts one of your trades.

You simply add your Wii's number to your DS's address book. When once you have this set up, after 5-10 minutes, you will get a notice confirming the set-up. From then on, you will receive notification on your Wii.

If you do not have a Wii, you will know if log onto the GTS and it quickly goes to the end sequence of a trade.
