What does DOS stand for?

What is DOS? What does it stand for? I know that it is like an old windows operating system?

DOS stands for Disk Operating System. It was an operating system used by IBM/PCs before Windows. It did not have a graphical interface like Windows does.

I still remember the good old DOS days :)
