Hey all
I'd like to make a few announcements:
First off, congratulations to our 1000th member, Medusoid!
Medusoid, please send me a private message with your address and we will send a gift your way!
The community is rapidly growing and I want to thank all of you for joining RarityGuide.com.
One thing I would like to address: I know that many of you spend all of your time browsing our rarity guides, but I wanted to remind you that we have very active forums as well! Please be sure to stop by. We have forums that cover all types of hobbies and collectibles, from books to video games to what not, and we also have an off-topic "Picnic" forum for everything else. So no matter what you are interested in, you can probably find a home for it in our forums! Don't be shy, join the discussions and talk about what you like.
A note regarding the rarity guides, if any of the rarities or values seem off, please let us know. We are constantly looking to improve the guides and appreciate any feedback.
You can also take advantage of our "Price Check" forum where you can get advice from other collectors on how much any collectible is worth! This forum is growing in popularity, as more and more people go in and seek to know the value of their items. If you are a collector and have knowledge in any area, please stop by and help others by giving your opinions on how much items are worth. As of now, the amount of people asking questions is more then those helping with answers, let's try to change that!
I know many of you sell collectibles online, whether on Ebay, Chasethechuckwagon.com, Bonanzle, and many other websites. For that, we have the Trading District and the Grand Bazaar forum where you can promote your auctions. Make sure to take advantage of that - RarityGuide.com is currently ranked around 70,000 (out of MILLIONS of websites) in the US according to Alexa, one of the leading web information companies. And the rank is rapidly climbing. So when you promote your auctions, you can be sure your ad is seen by a lot of people!
Keep in mind though that promotion of your listings is only allowed within the trading district (namely, the Grand Bazaar Forum) and not in the various discussion forums. HOWEVER, you are allowed to put a link to your store or website in your signature, and it will show up whenever you contribute to any discussion! This is one of the more overlooked ways of promoting your items/websites. As you participate in the discussions and gain respect within the community, more and more people will be checking out the link in your signature. Make sure to take advantage of that.
We recently introduce a ranking system from members. As you post more, your "Rarity" in the forums increases. The following titles will be awarded to users, based on the number of posts:
0-9 posts: Very Common
10-49 posts: Common
50-399 posts: Uncommon
400-799 posts: Scarce
800-1,199 posts: Rare
1200-1,999 posts: Very Rare
2000-3,999 posts: Super Rare
4000-9,999 posts: Ultra Rare
10,000+ posts: Exotic
A small gift from RarityGuide.com will be sent to those who attain a rarity of Rare. And we will think of other perks for dedicated members achieving a high rarity rating. Please stay on topic though, do not spam posts just to achieve a higher rarity rating.
Should you have any questions or are in need of technical support, feel free to contact us using the contact form, or you can post in our support forums.
So happy posting, and good luck on your quest to become rare! lots of interesting discussions await on the forums!
Looking forward to seeing you there,
