how do you build a manabarbs deck in magic?

you take 4x mana barabs and 56 other cards at least, shuffle and play. now to get the most out of your mana barbs you want your opponent to use mana from lands and you dont want to be using a lot of mana from lands yourself. borderposts and opther artifact mana is good here. also you need to make sure that your opponent can not just play 1 or two things and stop playing stuff. use cards that punish him for haveing lots of cards in hand and finish off with stuff that get rid of lots of stuff at once when he plays it all.

As much as Citadel of Pain got nerfed with the M10 rules change, it still combos ever so nicely with Manabarbs. Tamanoa is also a good choice (and the star of one of my other favourite decks).

Purity is a good card to play with Manabarbs. Also try Urza's Armor.

As far as not preventing damage, you can also try artifact mana. Prismatic Lens, Coalition Relic, and Mind Stone are some example sources of artifact mana.
