SKyrim solution to Focus Crystal Puzzle in Mzurft?

Am in Mzulft ruins

in dwarven armillary

I reached the oculory and found the crystal the guy paratus needed

but now he wants me to focus the crystals

I'm supposed to shoot ice and cold spells at the lenses

but have absolutely NO IDEA how to solve this puzzle. Its impossible. Have been at it for hours with no luck
