Neither. The thing is that bidding life isn't the same as paying it. You can't pay life you don't have, but you can bid more than you have.

what if both players have platinum angel and they just keep bidding higher and higher indefinetly since they cant lose anyway is the game a draw?

It's not a draw, since all the actions are entirely optional. In that situation, you'll probably want to handle it like a loop with optional actions - that is, the nonactive player has the final say on what actually happens.
