can I use Harm's Way during a combat phase to redirect combat damage dealt by one of the attacking creatures?

Yes, Harm's Way can redirect any type of damage, combat or noncombat.

Can you use Harm's Way to redirect the 2 points of damage back on the source of that damage? I was thinking it'd be kind of cool if you could basically use harm's way to make the attacker have a "critical fail" and trip over their own foot.

Yes, that's perfectly legal (and is in fact a rather common use for Harm's Way).
