    Are you saying you have protection from a color or the creature you are blocking with has the protection?

    In the first case, no, you won't take any damage from whatever you have protection from.

    If your blocker has protection, then yes. Say you have a 2/2 with pro green blocking a 5/5 green creature with trample, the trampler only needs to assign 2 to the blocker and the rest can go over to you, even though the damage won't actually kill the blocker.
