Sacrifice of artifact question

I just got back into the game so I have a hard time remembering some of the rules. I have a artifact card that when I tap a land and sacrifice it I gain 5 life. Then I have cards that bring back a artifact from the graveyard to my hand. Can I continue this process over and over, sometimes sacrificing the artifact twice in the same turn? I seem to faintly remember something about the second time your sacrifice a card it is removed from the game, not put into the graveyard.

Whatever you're remembering isn't right. You can indeed sacrifice it and return it as many times as you want.

well that is great that you can do it. To bad I gave my brother that deck so he can gain five life and draw cards on me all day long.

I made a deck based on the auriok + the salvaging station + thopter foundry to make infinity life, tokens, damage, and such. It was a dream crush when they said I netdecked it :\
