If someone were to put two Curse of Death's Hold on me

I cast a Morselhoarder

Can I remove the -1/-1 counters immediately so it survives

or will it always die?

Morselhoarder's activated ability, although a mana ability, still requires priority in order to be activated.

As such, Morselhoarder is sent to the graveyard as a state-based action for having 0 toughness before you receive priority to activate its ability.

cant the Morselhoarder's ability be used as instant right away and in response to it entering the batlefield/dying?

Just because you can do something at instant speed doesn't mean you can ignore priority.
