    Default can i cast Cursebreak to gain life if no enchantment in play

    can I cast Cursebreak just for the life gain without targetting an enchantment?

    No. You need a legal target in order to cast any spell that targets.

    You can't just decide what parts of a spell to cast unless the card lets you do so.
