MTG Commander legal cards!

Hello everyone

I'm creating a Commander deck to play in local tournaments, and I have a basic question regarding that. Can you use cards only from the current core set and expansions (like Standard Constructed), or can you use older cards (like Legacy legal) to construct your Commander deck?

The Commander card list is closest to Vintage, actually (since technically everything is restricted.) The Commander banlist can be found here.

The list on the Wizards site is for MTGO Commander.

I'm pretty sure it's the same banlist, unless I missed something.

It's the same list atm, but the online ban list isn't bound by the paper ban list, nor the other way around, afaik.
