Default mtg "attacks this turn if able" creature taps?

if a creature under the effect of "attack this turn if able" is tapped, does it still attack?

No. As DatAsh pointed out, it can only attack "if able".

A tapped creature can't attack, even if it's being forced to.

It can't attack if tapped, vigilant or not.

A tapped creature cannot be declared as an attacker.

I had a question, if creature has summoning sickness and has haste, can I choose not to use haste so that my creature does not have to attack?

No. You can't just turn abilities off because you don't like them.

What you can do is cast the creature in your second main phase, after combat.

If I have a spell or ability that would give my creature haste am I forced to use it so that creature can attack?
