is it legal to turn creature with morph you control who is face up, to being face down (Without any other effect telling you so)?

No, because there is no specific rule that allows you to do that. The only time you can turn a creature face-down, whether or not it has Morph, is when a spell or ability instructs you to do so. For example, Vesuvan Shapeshifter has a triggered ability that lets you turn it face-down, and Ixidron has a triggered ability that turns all other creatures face-down.

Minor nitpick, Ixidron's ability to turn everything face-down isn't a triggered ability.

D'oh, should've caught that earlier. The ability happens "as" Ixidron enters the battlefield, not "when"; my mistake.
