runed halo progenitus magic rulings progenitus protected from naming itself as card??

You have protection from the chosen name. (You can't be targeted, dealt damage, or enchanted by anything with that name.)

Can I name PROGENITUS, who has protection from everything, so that I get protection from progenius?

or in other words, does the protection from everything progenitus has also protects it from being named as the card for Runed Halo?

progy has protection from runed halo. protection from being named does not make any sense in a magic rules context. even thoug progy has protection from runed halo that will not prevent the naming since that does not target (no use of the word target and no rules saying nameing targets), does not deal damage or block.

so congratz to progy for haveing prot rned halo but it does not help him at all. runed halo will stop porgy damage all day long.

Remember protection is only relevant in four cases.
1. All damage that would be dealt to it by whatever it has protection from is prevented.
2. It can't be enchanted or equipped by whatever it has protection from.
3. It can't be blocked by creatures it has protection from.
4. It can't be targeted by spells it has protection from, or abilities from sources it has protection from.

If any given situation doesn't fall under one of those cases, protection is irrelevant.
