    Default Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas and platinum emperion

    Can I use last ability of Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas when other player has a platinum emperion on the battlefield? and will I gain the life?

    What about when I control the emperion?

    Yes you can. And yes - since the life loss and life gain aren't dependant on each other, you'll gain life even if no life is lost (and conversely, life will be lost even if none is gained).
