The rule doesn't say you can only have one land come into play per turn. It says you can only play one land card FROM YOUR HAND. Other cards, such as Explore or Fastbond, allow you to play additional land cards FROM YOUR HAND
To be a bit more accurate, the rule is that you can only play one land per turn. With Viridian Emissary, you're not playing the land, you're simply putting it into play.
