If I have a Cosi's Trickster on the battlefield

Other player casts Black Sun's Zenith with X as 1

does the Trickster die or does it get saved when the Zenith is shuffled into the library?

The way the card is read would kill the trickster.

All creatures get -1/-1 counters
THEN
Shuffle

Cosi's trickster would be dead before the shuffle.

You're right, but for the wrong reason. The Trickster doesn't die in the middle of the spell resolving. It'll get a -1/-1 counter and become 0/0, but it doesn't die yet. Then the Zenith is shuffled in, triggering the Trickster's ability. NOW state-based actions see the 0/0 Trickster and kill it. Its triggered ability then goes on the stack, but it's too late to save it.
