    is sacrificing a creature considered targeting the creature in magic?

    Only if the effect in question specifically says so (see Mercy Killing). Sacrificing as a cost (such as that on Nantuko Husk), or as part of an effect that doesn't (such as Diabolic Edict or Grave Pact) doesn't count as targeting the creature.

    If it says sacrifice target creature, then yes. If it is something that forces a player to sacrifice a creature, then no.
    Finally, a new generation of Pokemon for us to enjoy. There is much to look forward to in 2011!
