    Default tokens coming "into play"

When a token is put on the field does it activate abilities that have to do with creatures coming into play? Here is an exaple:

You have the creature Essence Warden out which has the ability "whenever another creature comes into play you gain 1 life"

Then you a have another creature enchanted with Presence of Gond which gives it "tap: add a 1/1 green elf creature token to play"

Would making those tokens give you life?

yes, a creature token is a creature

so using the ability from Presence of Gond will indeed trigger Essence Warden

Tokens will even trigger creature being put into graveyard ability even though they cease to exist afterwards, for example if one of those tokens die it will trigger a Vigil for the Lost

Thank you, that was really helpful. But what if it was a copied token? Like the card Rhys the Redeemed has the ability to put a copy of every token already in play onto the field, would that still activate the ability?

yes that would work, the copies count as creatures entering the battlefield themselves
