what are the planeswalker damage player rules
what are the planeswalker damage player rules
are you talking about planeswalker damageing players or damage to players that is dealt to planeswalkers ?
uhm can you explain both plz
1. planeswalker damageing players:
some laneswalker like sorin or the red-white ajani have an ability that can target players. they can use this ability any time you could play a sorcery and work the same way as any other spell dealing damage to a player. nothing special here.
2. dealing damage to a planeswalker / player:
when you deal damage to a player with some spell such as lightning bolt you can choose to have that spell or ability to a planeswalker that player controls instead.
here is an example. player a has a planeswalker with 3 loyality counters on it. player b plays a lightning bolt targeting player a. he can then choose to have that lightning bolt deal damage to that planeswalker instead of the player thus "killing" the planeswalker.
note that you can not target the planeswalker with the lightning bolt because it says "target creature or player" on the card. the rules for planeswalker allow you to deal the damage to the planeswalker. if for some reason you cant target the player you can not deal damage to the planeswalker with the lightning bolt either.
you can also use a planeswalker of your own that can deal damage to a player to deal that damage to a planeswalker instead ^^ so sorin can actualy kill other planeswalker :P
Just so every body knows, Planeswalkers are not 'an additional player on your side'. They are considered to be PERMANENTS
