Zendikar Lotus Cobra
Lotus Cobra says:
Lotus Cobra 1G
Creature - Snake
Landfall - Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, you may add one mana of any color to your mana pool.
2/1
If I play the land at the begining of turn, can I use that mana whenever I want in that turn? Because I remember there used to be that theres mana burn and if I didnt use the mana immediately I would manaburn, but I heard they changed in in M2010 that theres no mana burn any more

Re: Zendikar Lotus Cobra
There is no mana burn anymore so you don't lose life for unused mana, however, all of the mana in your mana pool disappears at the end of each phase and step.

Re: Zendikar Lotus Cobra
Thanks, so can you clarify:
Lets say I play my land at the beginning of turn like I usually do.
When do I lose the ability to use that mana? For example do I have to use it for an instant in the land playing phase, or can I use it for a sorcery as well?

Re: Zendikar Lotus Cobra
You can play your 1 land for the turn any time during your main phase (either one) when the stack is empty.
Here is a list of each phase and it's included steps in order.
Beginning Phase
-Untap Step
-Upkeep Step
-Draw Step
Main Phase (often called the pre-combat main phase or 1st main phase)
Combat Phase
-Beginning of Combat Step
-Declare Attackers Step
-Declare Blockers Step
-Combat Damage Step
-End of Combat Step
Main Phase (often called the post-combat main phase or 2nd main phase )
Ending Phase
-End Step
-Cleanup Step
So when you play you land (in either main phase) the cobra will add 1 mana to you mana pool. It will stay there until you get out of your main phase. During you main phase you can use the mana on any type of spell, instant, sorcery, creature... anything.
When you leave your main phase and enter either your Combat Phase or Ending Phase your mana pool return to being 0.
