The card Mindbreak Trap from Zendikar (Mythic Rare) reads:

If an opponent cast three or more spells this turn, you may pay rather than pay Mindbreak Trap's mana cost.

Exile any number of target spells.

Ok so I understand that spells are only spells while on the stack, so this card does not let you remove everything from the game or of that sort.

So then, what exactly is "Exile any number of target spells."?

Sounds to me like a counterspell, except instead of going to graveyard, those target spells are removed from game.

let me put it this way traders are puting a roughly 20 $ pricetag on this sweety right now. that puts it right up there with the 5 fetchlands as most expensiv card of the set.

yes it is very good you can hardcast it to stop cascade. it can be used to stop some silly lotus cobra double harrow turn three 7+ mana stuff ... and yeah countering progenitus turn 3 for 0 is what you want to do ^^. it also stops stormspells that are the dominant combodecks of legacy and vintage (a good player can play arround the trap but jet another good strom hate is either very aprichiatet or considert total unecessary, depending on wether you play stormcombo or not ^^)

in a worst case scenario its a couter for 4 that exiles the spell. since standart only gets real counters from mana cost 3 upwards that quite good even without all the added bounuses this thing has.

just looked up the mindbreak trap. its price has gone down quite a bit. it now stands at about 13$ releigating it to the thired most expensiv lot. top spot is now taken by lotus cobra at about 25$.

next come the fetchlands at about 15-20 $

then come the good rest, nissa, sorin, warren investigator and mindbreak trap at about 12-13 $
