    There is almost never a "best" or "appropriate" anything in Magic. There are as many decks out there as there are players and many of them work. I have won tournaments with 0 creatures in a deck and I've won with 40 creatures in a deck.

    The number of creatures in your deck will solely be based on what your deck is trying to accomplish.
