how dp i use planes walker cards in magic?
Planeswalkers function somewhat like any other creature you have. You cast them from your hand for their cost.
After that, they begin to differ. Each Planeswalker has a number on them, this is their starting loyalty. The card shows their various abilities. Their loyalty increases or decreases based on the ability you choose to use. If their loyalty hits "0", they are removed from the battlefield. They can also be targeted by spells which can target you and can be declared the target of a creature attack. All damage drains from the loyalty counters on them.
also note planeswalkers are not creatures under any sicumstances. they are planeswalkers. cards that effect creatures will not effect them.
ohh and they can not be targeted by spells that target a player since they are not players but planeswalkers. if a spell would deal damage to a player you can redirect it to a planeswalker but you can not traget a planeswalker with a spell that targets a player.
To clear this up, you can only redirect noncombat damage that a source you control would deal to your opponent to a planeswalker they control. You can't, for example, play Earthquake and redirect the damage that would be dealt to you to your planeswalker.Quote:
