Summoning sickness is when you put a creature down you have to wait the next turn before you may attack with it UNLESS it has a Haste

Just to edit on the post above me. Summoning sickness is when a creature is played, it cannot tap if it has a tap ability such as, tap it gives you a forest. It can't attack either. During your opponents attack phase, it can block though, also tap abilities are able to be played. Summoning sickness only lasts until the end of your turn. Haste negates summoning sickness.
