oh cool this list will be useful. I hope I dont get progenitus used against me but if I do I will know what cards to use against it
I wanted to add the card Sudden Spoiling to the list
it doesnt kill progenitus directly but it will make him lose his abilities and you can kill him more easy and it wont even go back to owners library!
I'm questioning the bit about Wrath destroying progenitus...wrath is a white spell, Pro would have protection from white
Since wrath of god does not target progenitus, the protection wont help and progenitus would be destroyed.
yeah its also stated in Wizard's faq:
Magic Set FAQs : Wizards of the Coast
"Progenitus can still be affected by effects that don't target it or deal damage to it (such as Wrath of God)."
with that being said...how about the ability of a knight of new alara or two!!! ouch
also cards with Wither
Wither wont work because Progenitus prevents all damage that would be dealt to it
Oh you're right, Wither is a form of damage after all, realize that now, thanks for clarfying
If you name progenitus with CRANIAL EXTRACTION while still in your hands or deck would it remove it?
Yes. First of all, as always, protection only stops four things (damage, enchanting/equipping, blocking, targeting), and Cranial Extraction does none of those things to Progenitus. Second, and more importantly, protection only does anything while the card's in play. Yes, that means you can counter Progenitus as well.
Fluttershy is best pony.
why are yu people so worried about progy ?let see who plays prody in the first place:
- some legacy decks
- polygenitus in standard (and thats like 0.00001% of the decks played so basicly you can ignor that)
- casual
if you were a legacy player you would not need to talk about ways to get rid of progi because you'd know ...
so you afraid of progy in casual ???? why ?
that 10 mana, 2 of each color. even with ramp he usualy does not hit the table befor turn 7-8 (unless the whole rest of the deck is nothing but ramp).
just play a deck that can actualy kill befor turn 8-9 and your fine ??? seriously i dont see the problem .... if you only play deck that cast thier first creature or other spell on turn 6 then its your own fault and you deserve to get beaten arround by progenitus ... if someone plays natural order or oath etc. for a fast turn 2-3 progy just tell him to play something not that cheesy in casual ...
progy should never realy be a problem ...
any legendary card would send him to the graveyard, but that would also just send him back into the library because of his ability I believe..
so basically Thought Hemorrhage or Cranial Extraction are your best bets.
only a legendary card called "progenitus" would send him to graveyard not just any legendary
but yeah thats another way to kill progenitus, with anohter progenitus maybe thats the most fun way
Actually, only a very specific legendary card would do that (another Progenitus).any legendary card would send him to the graveyard
Fluttershy is best pony.
??? noooo.... only progy will cause progy to be place into the grave. there can be as many legends on the field as you want as long as they all have diffrent names.
if i play cranial or hemorage i would name natural order. then i either win, see that he plays oath and say darn or laugh heartely becaus he actualy fell for the notion he would live to see 10 mana infront of him.
i beat u both
yeah still had to wirte all the stuff to press my point that a non-cheesy progy is just not realy a threat ...
I the deck I posted is dropping prog consistently turn 4-5 in standard.
