    opponent player will have a hard time deciding whether to remove Abyssal Persecutor because of the 6/6 trample flying, or to keep him in play because of the cant lose condition

    The point of this is simple. Use it as a 6/6 flying trampling beatstick, then sacrifice it to something once your opponent's at 0.

    At first I read this the other way around, Plantinum Angel style, and I was like "Oh come on, you have got to be kidding me". The real sad part was that after Baneslayer, I wasn't really all that surprised.

    yeah I also thought at first it was just a black platinum angel before reading it more carefully

    Good for competitive play? Barring unforeseen Block Contstructed - no.

    For casual play, definitely a 'yes'.

    Just beatdown with the Persecutor then cast a kicked Gatekeeper of Malakir and target yourself to destroy creature. Plenty of was right now to remove this guy.

    the fact that one of the more exciting cards of the set is just marginaly more exciting than a grinning demon realy makes me sad big time ...
