what are the top red dmg cards in magic?
what are the top red dmg cards in magic?
There are always X spells (like Fireball and Blaze) that technically will have the potential to do the most damage.
Others that I know of are Searing Wind and Chandra Nalaar. (Both deal 10 damage - as printed.)
Lightning bolt
here are my top 5 in order:
1. fireblast (its a timewalk for burn ...)
2. lightning bolt
3. chain lightning
4. fire (from fire / ice )
5. magma jet
runners up: price of progress, lightning helix, punishing fire
Oh... If you mean the best red damage spells then that's completely different... I thought you meant single red spells that do the most damage.
However the two best cards for direct damage decks, IMO, are:
ahh browbeat ... i had so many very long discussions about that card. it is a very good damage spell but the deiscusions were about burn in legacy ... and there browbeat is nothing you want to run.
same goes for the scepter ... just a lot (even more than browbeat) too slow. 4 mana for the first 3 damage should have been 12 damage insted ^^
outside legacy burn these are indeed very good cards for any kind of red deck focusing on direct damage, be it burn, sligh or whatever. the artifacts are especialy fantastic if your playing multiplayer casual games but in those expect to see huge amount of hate against you just because you play burn.
pulse of the forge is another very very good card. again nothing legacy burn should ever touch because the decks focus is on 3 dmg for R and pretty much nothing else ^^.
im suprised your list did not also have fireblast. due to this card alone burn wins turn 3 not turn 4 .
then again all cards on our lists that differ lean yours into a more long-term damage direction so i can totaly agree with your list depending on the context (i.e. format, casual etc.)
Yeah, I've never been a legacy play... I don't own enough of the good cards to make a deck that could even come close to winning legacy. I usually stick to Standard, Casual, and the occasional Extended.
