is it a "form" of magic or something you can substitute the cards for???
is it a "form" of magic or something you can substitute the cards for???
dont quite understand your question can you clarify pls ?
ahh ok.
1. this is not type 4
2. this is for magic online only. the momir card does not exists outside of magic online.
3. momir is a vanguard avatar. that is a card you beginn the game with and it modifies you starting lifetotal, your starting handsize (and max handsize) and in addition has some effect you can use or is permanently in effect. vanguard is a format where you play the role of a character from the background of the magic universe. magic online has a greater number of these characters than printed magic.
4. here you can see what momir does as a vanguard card: Magic Online Vanguard : Wizards of the Coast
5. due to the fact that both players lay with 60 basic lands + momir and nothing else the game turns into something very random. if you like strategy this will not be something for you.
6. due to the nature of this particular vanguard card this format would be very difficult to do with printed cards. not impossible but you ne a table to roll on randomly to determin what creature momir creates.
hope this helps
With a small variation, it would be possible/easier with printed cards. Rather than taking all creatures from the game and rolling a die a dozen times every time you activate it, just have each player grab a handful of creature with CMC 1 - whatever, shuffle them up into individual piles, and use those.6. due to the nature of this particular vanguard card this format would be very difficult to do with printed cards. not impossible but you ne a table to roll on randomly to determin what creature momir creates.
I also don't think this format is just for strategy-haters. Its random nature makes on-the-fly play decisions an absolute must, and that can often be the most strategic part of a game.

its very tactical but not stratigical at all ^^ unless im mixing up those two vocabularys now ^^
According to my thesaurus, those are pretty much the same thing. My dictionary says as much as well.

ok in german there is a slight but destinct differeance:
strategy is more about planing, preparing etc. whilst tactics is more the right choices that have to be made on the battlefield. might be diffrent in englisch though.
Oh wow, I thought it dealt with how much, and in conjunction with, your land - Determining what card you would put out, dictated on what release you so thought (how much mana and in which sequence) I was WAY!!! off.
I've always understood them as strategy being the overarching grand plan for a series of encounters whereas tactics is the application of strategy in and individual conflict.
It's like the difference between knowledge and wisdom. Wisdom in knowledge put into application.
In any case, the semantics don't really matter. The point is that there's still a lot of thinking going on, and I'm sure those who like strategy aren't really going to care that much about the minor (if any) distinction. I know I don't.

there is a relevant diffrence between knowing what you will play with and playing well with anything you get. thats where 2 people who both enjoy a mental challange might like and dislike the format. also some people might dislike the unlikely but possible random i win / i loose effects the format can have (e.g. countriside crusher for 3 or leveler for 5 ...)
